Budget.
my husband and i are barely making by compared to what we had before and we havent changed anything and have actually tried making things even cheaper but with gas prices and groceries getting more expensive it is getting hard!!!!
It isn't so bad. My income has dropped by almost half over the past 4 months, so I am broke too, but it really isn't so bad. Go outside and enjoy the sunshine, it's free.

Didn't say it didn't. I said "failure to plan". Guess there wasn't enough planning if having one check messed up caused so much "damage". And I am NOT a snob lol. Just don't like people griping about their poor planning. I was an army brat growing up and had 3 sisters so we weren't rolling in the money. We didn't have a TV or cable or anything like that for quite sometime. My dad made sure we had a decent roof over our heads in a safe neighborhood, plenty of food in our bellies and decent clothes to wear. We didn't go out to eat because it was cheaper to cook at home. We didn't go on vacations because my dad was more concerned about having a nice, safe place for us to live. I'd help my mom clip coupons too. No biggie. It's called having ones priorities straight.

For such a petty comment and by that i mean there are SEVERAL of us that have thought it at one point or another. You can have over 12,000 dollars set aside as savings and still be broke!!! My husband and I are trying to set up for a retirement and with the way the economy is going it is just getting hard to live off what we used to have more than enough on. my gas price has gone from being 29.00 to fill up to 70! I still owe 3500.00 it so i can trade it in when we are trying to get another car cause we are about to have another baby and need a second car. The women with budgeting comments and such have gotten really RUDE! My husband and i budget very well but you dont get raises in the military like you do in civilian world! after SGT rank you are chosen to be promoted by a board and my husband got SCREWED when he was in Iraq and he tried lat moving...his packet got looked over cause he was in the middle of a lat move. Like the one commenter said...do the claws ever retract? I swear yall come here just sharpen your claws and not really support other wives. Yeah there are women on here that are just plain wrong...the cheaters and such and sharpen your claws all you want on them but for someone to say they are tired of being broke and get all these rude comments is just uncalled for. As for the get a job comments...I am SAHM and we have added up how much it would cost me in gas and day care to get a job and we would actually be coming out of pocket to try and earn more income! I understand what you are saying. My husband is Army, I work a full time job and go to school full time. We also have a two year old in the house. We have to be extremely careful with our spending. We both come from a well off family and not being able to just jump up and go shopping or me jump up and go get my nails done gets on our nerves sometimes. The military forces you to learn to be responsible and careful with decision making and money spending because you get paid pennies. You only get paid just enough to make ends meet. That's just the military for you though.
