I just found out that because my husband is the only HAZMAT certified person in his company he will be coming home on trail party. Yay...turn this already long ass 15 month deployment into a 16 month deployment.

That blows! We're so lucky that for things like this, my husband has this one single NCO in his platoon who volunteers for all that garbage so that the married guys can go home, and he can make more money. Everyone needs a guy like that. They should come standard...
Everyone does not need a guy like that. What a sense of entitlement! Even if the single one doesn't have a spouse to return to, they still have family and loved ones they left behind.

Hey, #2, he volunteers for everything like that. Nobody makes him or even suggests that he should. You ask him why he does it, he'll straight up tell you, "I want the extra money."
Yeah my husband is one of the ones who has to go ahead to set things up for the rest of his unit. Sometimes them's the breaks.
