It wasn't the strain and stress of having to be a single parent for Sharon, the wife of an army pilot and mother of two that tore her marriage apart -- it was the fact that her husband returned from Iraq a "changed man."

I think its trashy when women have tattoos on their arms, lower backs

So does my husband. She can have the hottest face and body imaginable but the second he sees arm tattoos he says that is the biggest turn off. I really don't care for tattoos, either, to be honest.

Anonymous said:

theres a reason the lower back tattoo is called a TRAMP STAMP!

Anonymous said:

In that case I like being trashy ;) I find my lower back very sexy with my very simple tat. My hubby likes it too. Nothing better then being bitten there

I absolutley agree.... My husband LOVES mine...

Anonymous said:

my husband loves my lower back tattoo. And I have a tattoo on my wrist too. I don't have a sleeve or anything. But he loves em, I don't care what you think. I am in no way trashy because of where I chose to put a tattoo. And you can't see them when I'm clothed unless you wanna search my arm

Anonymous said:

I think that tattoos with words/letters are trashy.

Anonymous said:

Jealous???

Anonymous said:

Im getting my half-sleeve next month.

WOOHOO!

Anonymous said:

I don't have a problem with tattoos on the back.

I hate them on arms.

Nothing is worse than seeing a girl/women dressed up nice, looking good. Then an arm with tatts.

Such a turnoff.

Anonymous said:

since when does the palacement of a tattoo make someone trashy. Intelligent people would know that that is determined by sexual behavior, a lack of self respect, things along that line. not where you have a tattoo.
thank you for the cliche sterotype

Anonymous said:

I think there's nothing hotter than a chick with sleeves.

Anonymous said:

The back thing, I don't mind. I don't have one there, but I don't particularly mind it on other people. Arms, now that's another story. Most of the time I've seen that, it looks really masculine, or just crappy. There was a girl in my platoon who had the worst tattoos, and they were on her upper arms. I also know another girl who has a pink carousel horse on her upper arm, and it looks awful. There are more I've seen as well that also look crappy. I'm sure, somewhere out there, there's a girl who can rock the upper arm tattoo like nobody's business, but none of the ones I've seen fall into that category. They just look manly and gross.

Anonymous said:

So a tattoo on your ass isn't trashy but one on your arm isn't? Get over yourself.

If you don't prefer tattoos, don't get one.

Anonymous said:

I love my tattoos!! Ive had several men compliment them as well. Meh...I wouldnt want a goody two shoes like your husband anyway!

Anonymous said:

I have one on my lower back, I got it just before starting my master's degree! :) I got it there b/c with my professional career I can't have one showing, and that was the best place for me. Stop being so judgemental and bitchy, not everyone with a "tramp stamp" falls into your sterotype, I've only been with one other guy way before my husband... I guess if my tattoo makes me a tramp in your eyes then so be it, I really don't care what people think! My husband helped me pick it out and WE love it!!! :)

Anonymous said:

I don't really like large tattoo's on the arms of a female. But that doesn't make it trashy.

There are so many other things that people can do to make them look trashy. Even worse than someone with tattoos.

Anonymous said:

"Jealous???"

What a stupid comment. Asking them if they are jealous of something they find trashy? Puh-lease. Not to mention the fact IF she wanted one she could GET one.

What an Einstein you are lol.

Anonymous said:

"If you don't prefer tattoos, don't get one."

Unfortunaltely I have to see these nasty things when I'm out. Shudders!

Anonymous said:

"since when does the palacement of a tattoo make someone trashy."

It doesn't. I think ALL tattoos are trashy.

Anonymous said:

I've never seen a tattoo that doesn't look trashy. The worst is a woman in a business suit/skirt with an ankle tattoo. I can't stand the classy/trashy contradiction. I almost got a small tattoo on my hip once and I am so glad I didn't. I don't want the "trash" stigma that goes along with having a tattoo. Even if you're a classy gal, tattoos carry a stereotype whether you live up to it or not. Not to mention, I can't imagine a tattoo looking good on a middle aged person or senior citizen. Nothing sexy about a lower back tattoo on a sixty-year-old.

Anonymous said:

at least a lower back tattoo is usually hidden... unless you're somewhere like the beach.

Anonymous said:

Know what I think is trashy? When people judge others on things that have no effect on them whatsoever. Where someone else has their tattoo placed doesn't interfere with your life in the least bit. I certainly hope I'm not friends with you - I'd hate to know I'm wasting time on somebody as superficial as yourself.

Anonymous said:

Just wait until all of you are older. I worked in a nursing home and saw many a people with tatoos. They are very nasty looking on sagging, wrinkled skin. At that time in my life I was going to get a tatoo, and seeing all the wrinkly ones stopped me.

Anonymous said:

I don't necessarily think ALL tattoos are tacky. I have one that I got when I was in the Army. It's on my upper back, and it's pretty small. I wouldn't get any more, but I don't mind seeing a little bit of ink on somebody. Sometimes it's cool.

I agree about the arm tattoos on females, though. The low back ones, I wouldn't get one, but don't mind them on other people.

Anonymous said:

I am not trashy, thank you. And my husband picked the placement of my lower back tattoo. I, nor anyone else, can see it unless I try really hard. So when I am "old and wrinkly" it won't matter, cause no one will be lookin' at it anyway.

Anonymous said:

For some reason, I've got weird logic on this one. If it's a chick who is clearly into tattoos as a lifestyle and has sleeves or something, that's cool to me. Speaks a lot about that person and what is important to them. When I see little miss sorority girl in an elegant gown at a ball and she's got some carbon-copy flower/butterfly/whatever on her arm I think it's friggin ridiculous. But nothing to me is worse than black writing that isn't with a graphic. Just writing. Cuz seriously, if that's all you wanted, why not just write on yourself with a damn sharpie everyday.

Anonymous said:

I just love close minded people that stereotype. It's a shame you classify someone as trashy because of a little ink. You have no idea what kind of person they are but hey, they have a tattoo, so they must be trashy. Talk about ignorance.

Anonymous said:

"You have no idea what kind of person they are but hey, they have a tattoo, so they must be trashy"

The tattoos say it all lol.

Anonymous said:

" I, nor anyone else, can see it unless I try really hard."

So it's not visible in a bathing suit? If it's your lower back I find that highly unlikely.

Anonymous said:

I don't think a senior citizen really cares if a tat looks good on their skin by the time their that old.

Anonymous said:

Um, when I'm older and you're changing my depends, the least of my problems is a saggy tattoo.

Anonymous said:

you judging other people just because of a tattoo, is trashy. get over yourself.

Anonymous said:

Girls with tattoos tend to be on the sluttier side of life, IMO. That's what guys think..hot girl with no tattoos and hot girl covered in tattoos...who is he going to try to get laid by first and easiest?

You know it's true.

Anonymous said:

Mine is on my lower back just above my crack, and as a matter of fact, you CAN'T see it when I am wearing a bathing suit. I don't show my ass crack when I'm at the beach. Oh wait! Maybe I should, that way I would fit into your "trashy" sterotype. EYE ROLL

Anonymous said:

"Girls with tattoos tend to be on the sluttier side of life, IMO. That's what guys think..hot girl with no tattoos and hot girl covered in tattoos...who is he going to try to get laid by first and easiest? You know it's true."

There is a difference between having tattoos, and being covered with them.

A BIG DIFFERENCE.

omg I'm the same way - I have friends covered in complicated, impressive tattoos, and I respect it because it's a commitment, but a lower-back butterfly on a woman who is working to let it show is tacky to me because it's just so done-to-death.

Anonymous said:

I think that if you get a tastful tattoo, its ok no matter where you put it. I got a small one on my wrist and a bigger one on my left shoulder. Both of them mean something different to me because they happened at different times in my life. I've never gotten anything but compliments on both of them, from other inked people and NON inked alike. It all depends on the person. Just don't get stupid shit all over yourself like naked people or the dreaded lover's name.

Anonymous said:

God, one more thing to judge people by. You people make me sick. I hope I never meet any of you. It's isn't that you hate tattoos, it is that you are jealous someone has the balls to get one and you don't. Someone wants to commemorate their navy service by getting blue birds on their shoulders and they are trashy? Tattoos have been around forever. Get a life people. I'd rather be friends with someone who is nice and respectful and has tattoos than any of you judgmental non tattoo having a-holes. "Judge not lest ye be judged."

Anonymous said:

"It's isn't that you hate tattoos, it is that you are jealous someone has the balls to get one and you don't."

What a moronic statement. ANYONE WHO WANTS ONE CAN GET ONE! lol. Why would anyone be jealous of something they could get IF they wanted. Maybe they don't want to look like trash. Let me guess... they're jealous because someone looks like trash lol. So YOU think everyone in the world LOVES tattoos and those that don't are jealous? HAve you been hitting the sauce so early in the day? They have something called AA, you might benefit from it lol.

Anonymous said:

I don't get how a tattoo=trash.

Anonymous said:

i guess it also depends on how the person carries themselves. i have a full arm tattoo and i have a professional career. i wear skirts and fancy suits with heels and show my tattoo off, all at the same time. my nails are neatly manicured and my hair and makeup are always on point. and i've had sex with just one guy and i married him. does that make me trashy? imo, you're being judgemental.

Anonymous said:

Sleeves are the hottest thing in the world <3. Get over yourself OP.

Amen. I've got large, visible shinpieces, and a few other small pieces, and will be getting an entire backpiece started (nape to crack with a wraparound) in 2 months. And they suit me. These are pieces of art I'm sporting, and I'll proudly flaunt them. They took hours and hours of time from sketch to completion, custom works between 4 and 5 people. They're incredible (and they feel good!). I never understood the whole "pick a flash piece off the wall and have the same tattoo in the same place as 500 other people" mentality.

And you know what? Most people don't think I'm trashy by first sight. My hair is done well, I dress nicely, my nails are done. I carry myself well. I speak eloquently, softly. And then people get to know me and realize while tattoos are a big part of my life, I'm also big into etiquette, and tact. Knowing appropriate behavior for situations. Treating people decently, being a good person genuinely and not for recognition.

But, hey. If someone wants to avoid me because of the gorgeous artwork I display, that's their own prerogative. Trashy knows no bounds, it effects the tattooed and non-tattooed alike.

Anonymous said:

Question time...If you meet someone and love being friends with them but then one day see a small tat on their back you are going to tell them they are trashy? wow.. What a small minded person you are.

Anonymous said:

The poster about the Jealous comment - you shouldn't call people names BITCH. How do you like it?

Anonymous said:

"If someone wants to avoid me because of the gorgeous artwork I display, that's their own prerogative. Trashy knows no bounds, it effects the tattooed and non-tattooed alike."

You think it's gorgeous others may not and most likely WON'T since you are going to be one huge walking tattoo. I don't think anyone said ONLY tattooed people are trashy.

Anonymous said:

" I don't think anyone said ONLY tattooed people are trashy."

No, but they said ALL people with tattoos are trashy. Same idiot logic.

Anonymous said:

"No, but they said ALL people with tattoos are trashy. Same idiot logic."

Not really. Look in the prisons and see how many have tattoos. The majority of them do. Speaks volumes.

Plus why do you think most businesses (except wal-mart, fast food or something like that) want them covered?

Anonymous said:

omg that was just about the most dimwitted thing I've heard in a while. So since people have tattoos, they're no better than someone in prison?? And no, they don't speak volumes. Haven't you ever heard the expression don't judge a book by its cover? Don't automatically assume because someone has tatts that they're trash. You could be some closet white, trailer trash snot but don't think so since you don't have any tattoos.

Anonymous said:

"You could be some closet white, trailer trash snot but don't think so since you don't have any tattoos."

Wow, this makes no sense at all.

Anonymous said:

"Look in the prisons and see how many have tattoos. The majority of them do. Speaks volumes."

Look in the general public and see how many people have tattoos.

"Plus why do you think most businesses (except wal-mart, fast food or something like that) want them covered?"

Actually, MOST business's don't care anymore. Tattoo's are becoming the norm. I work in an upscale office with high priced clientel, and all of us are allowed to show our tattoos, within reason, of course.

But just because we're allowed to show them, doesn't mean we do. I don't see the women in accounting with their boobs hanging out just to showcase their ink.

Plus, tattoos are special to that individual. I really don't care if you like my tattoos or not. I got them for me, not you.

Anonymous said:

Only an idiot would blanket generalize in such a tasteless manner as claiming all individuals with tattoos are trashy.

Its ignorant and shows a severe lack of taste and class on the part of the individual making the claim.

No, I don't think its jealousy. But I do think the person is trying to perhaps project self hatred for something they are on a group of people they feel are different from them, and thus attempt to distance themselves from their own self image.

In other words, a classless, Trashy skank tries to remove the image and persona from herself by projecting it on those different from herself.

As it is... I love art and I love tattoos. A friend of mine is an AMAZING artist and tattoo artist. I support her talent implicitly and am proud to wear her work on my skin.

Anonymous said:

Suuurrreeeeee you do.

" I don't see the women in accounting with their boobs hanging out just to showcase their ink."

Thank goodness they aren't 110% trash that they don't have their boobs hanging out so people can see their stupidity.

"Plus, tattoos are special to that individual. I really don't care if you like my tattoos or not. I got them for me, not you."

If they are for YOU and not others why not keep the nasty things cobered up where only YOU can see them?

Anonymous said:

"Its ignorant and shows a severe lack of taste and class on the part of the individual making the claim."

Haha, and those people with the "art" aren't trashy or have sever lack of taste but those who don't like them do? Idiotic staement of the day. As someone who hates tattoos on men and women I could say:

"Its ignorant and shows a severe lack of taste and class on the part of the individual making the claim."

To those who are glorifying the stupidity people put on their body's.

"In other words, a classless, Trashy skank tries to remove the image and persona from herself by projecting it on those different from herself."

I'm not sknaky or trashy, I have no tattoos and have never slept around so therefore far from trash or skank but it seems you are the pot calling the kettle black lol.

Especially when they have to go to a formal occasion-does not look good with a dress. Also, will not be a good look when those girls get a little older. NASTY!! It really brands you as an uneducated enlisted wife.

HAHAHA! You guys are so funny. So what? we that have tats on our arms and backs are trashy! LOL! You know whats trashy, people that judge! People who admit that there husband is allowed to be turned on by a girl and tell you, yet you respesct it! Trashy is when a person is so negative that they dont realize that the children they have, will one day grow up... and IF they decided to do what we are judge for...youre child will then be TRASHY IN YOUR EYES! HAHAHA!!!

Haha poor girl I feel so sorry for you honey, not everyone looks good with Tattoos and you are probably one of them, you are one for those people that judge only because you wish you could do or have certain things in your life.......I love my Tramp Stamp, It gives my hubby a reason to get me from behind;) And I absolutely love it......Plus I have a very sexy body and I happend to look good with a lower back tattoo.....And my hubby is turned on everytime I bend over......

Two words for that little comment...
F--- . YOU .

Anonymous said:

i have a 3/4 sleeve of star gazer lillies and i cannot tell you how many people have stopped and complimented me on my tat's. why? because they are feminine and beautiful, and in all honesty they make me feel more comlpete.

trashy i am not. do i belong on the sluttier side of life, nope. i couldn't since i've only slept with my husband and i'm all of 30 years old. i'm not a slut in the least.

will i regret it in 30 years time? i hope not - but i know it will always be a great memory and story for me to tell, about when and how i got my tattoo.

tattoo's a very personal for some people, as is your opinion.

please remember however, not to judge people by the narrow standards that you set for yourself.

my brothers call the lower back the "tramp stamp"

It think it's very artistic. =)

In my experience, there are just as many trashy women without tattoos.

I also know very educated, successful, and over all good people who are inked.

However, I do judge when I see a blonde (or brunette for that matter) trampy looking broad with cliche butterfly/tribal/chinese symbol/etc tattoos.
