Sarah Palin for VP? - Many are cheering for another woman taking center stage, and many are worried that this is a woman who's been promoted for the wrong reasons and is going to be blamed when things don't go right.

Are you fucking kidding me?!? Inspections every week for at lease 3 months!! ALL uniforms. Who in the hell can still fit in their old uniforms? I sure as hell know he can't. Guess this means more $$ down the drain. FUCK!!!

o yeah, h8 it with a passion too

that happened with us. Thankfully we had to buy them just 2 months before we got his clothing allowance, so we just put it on the star card and august 1st will be paying it off with his allowance. I hope you will be able to do the same!

omg i hate that shit!! then you have to run out and buy a bunch of new shit. annoying.

Anonymous said:

yea but get them all ready now and you will have an easy time.. just IP all his stuff for him now and go get everything dry cleaned.

Um that's what your uniform allowance is for. It's everyone's responsibility to make sure you always have proper fitting uniforms at all times. I don't know why this surprises people when inspections pop up.

Anonymous said:

not always the case in ur a reservist though pp

Anonymous said:

Reservists still have to maintain their uniforms just like everyone else. Granted, it's a lot harder to do so, especially if you live far away from any bases, but they should know better than to wait for an inspection to get their stuff ready.

What sucks here is that the husband didn't take care of business so now his wife has to deal with trying to burget in uniforms.

OP here. He didn't wait. He has most of it. Just the fact that they are planning to do this every week until whenever. And to make this more fun, we live 45 min away from base. Him having to drive in for a 10 min inspection if fucking crazy! Just venting!

I didn't mean to come off as bitchy in the other comments...I just hate seeing wives getting all stressed because their husbands didn't take care of stuff, which is what it looked like. I'm glad he did take care of it! That sucks he has to go that far just for the inspection!

Weekly? That's dumb. My unit did it monthly for a while, but for us, that just meant Class A inspections. I mean, we wore BDU's every day, and PT's were our only other uniform, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I'd have hated a weekly class A inspection, though. I hated those shoes, and my male platoon sergeant sucked at inspecting females.

I don't get the not fitting into all the uniforms thing, though. I never had any issue with mine, and nor does my husband. Since the end of Basic (when we were fitted) I haven't gained any weight at all (except while pregnant, but it comes off, of course) and he's gained only like 3 pounds in the past 16 years since he was fitted (although it goes without saying that he has bought new uniforms along the way in order to have them in proper condition), so really, I don't get the not fitting thing. If you do PT, your uniforms should fit fine.

Yeah if he doesn't fit into his uniforms, then he should have gotten new ones a long time ago. I gained weight after bootcamp because I got lazy and didn't PT as much, but that was my own fault and I bought new uniforms. If I had PT'ed, I wouldn't have spent the money, but oh well.

Officers don't get clothing allowance, so it sucks when they have to buy all new stuff for the clothing inspections.

My husbands have been in 5 years and hasn't touched his class a's since basic. Still one ribbon on them and about 3-4 inches to short.

Anonymous said:

Oh buy the uniforms and hush up. Yes, it is expensive, but so are business suits.

Whine whine whine.

Anonymous said:

The worse is the inspections during a deployment, there is no reason to have his working whites/blues and 5 other uniforms on board with him that he NEVER wears! It takes up space in his locker that could be used for more useful things. ughhh

Anonymous said:

He should still fit into his old uniforms. The idea is not to pork up and become a lard ball.

Anonymous said:

reservists dont get uniform allowance, that was my point 2:02

Anonymous said:

reservists do to get a uniform allowance. I know because my husband has been in the reserves for over 15 years now and yes, he has gotten a uniform allowance.
