Please don't bash me for not being more educated on this....just educate me. Why is it exactly that Afghanistan is the bigger threat? Is that like the "hub" of Al quaeda and The Taliban???? I know I should know this, but I am admitting that I don't.....so please educate me.

OP here again...and yes I know that's where they "think" Osama is hiding out, but is there any set in stone proof? I guess my big question is....why MUST we be there? And why are we pulling out of Iraq to go there? I mean we have been so fooled about Iraq that I guess I just feel like I need some concrete evidence/answers as to why it is so NECESSARY to be in Afghanistan...and yes of course I know that we have been there for quite some time, but now it seems to be becoming the focal point....and they keep saying that is where the "real threat" is. I just feel like I need justification.

Your never going to get your justification. I agree. However I would rather be in Afghanistan then Iraq because of 9/11. Even if it happened 7 years ago. I'm still pissed off.
OP I agree with you in that I dont' think we need to be in the Middle East AT ALL. I think our troops need to be here protecting our homefront, but, yes the Taliban is in Afganistan and that is also where Osama is...Maybe when we catch Osama the government will be satisfied, but I doubt it... Some other asshole will just rise to power and replace him. Terrorism is never going to go away and there is never going to be peace in the Middle East. It hasn't been peaceful for thousands of years, but that's the American arrogance of our government to think that WE can change it. Sigh.
If your talking about why they want to move more troops into Afghanistan rather that Iraq, it's because things are starting to brew with Iran again, and we have a better platform in Afghanistan than in Iraq.
OP, Why MUST we be in Iraq? We had some justification to go into Afghanistan but non at all to go into Iraq.
You should read A Thousand Splendid Suns. It is a historical fiction account of women in Afghanistan. Not really what you asked, but it as a lot of history in it.
