Almost five years ago, following the now infamous dog/vomit episode, True Mom Confessions was born. Now, with millions of women's stories shared, lives touched and friendships made, it's time to say goodbye. Sadly, Truu is leaving behind it's online life at the end of the month. But I'm hopeful that women will continue to share their intimate tales from the trenches -- in their homes, on their blogs, at the office, or while waiting in carpool line.
Thank you for allowing me to listen in and for sharing the intimate details of your lives - from the heartfelt to the heartbreaking. Thank you for your honesty and humility and for supporting each other with "me toos" that did the very thing I hoped to accomplish when I started this site -- to help women feel less alone as they made their way along the emotional journey that is motherhood.
While we are closing our doors, I'm happy to see that over the years, so many others giving women a platform to share their stories with each other have opened. Sure, somethings should be told under the veil of anonymity. But thanks to all of you, the shame and embarrassement surrounding so many of our parenting foibles has been erased and we can have open and honest -- and public conversations - about our lives. Through all of your shared secrets and support of each other, it's now pretty clear that a bad thought or a little white lie (or both!) doesn't make us bad parents -- it makes us human.
