Q:Mods: Every comment from user is negative, hurtful and just plain NASTY. Can you ban them please
A: I looked over that persons comments, and while the bulk have been negative they have been negative towards the topic, not towards the user. I haven’t seen much in the way of name calling. Our only rule regarding comments is not to use excessive profanity and not to insult the OP by calling them names.
Q:MODS: Confession #68349 is disgusting and aimed at a certain user . There was another confession from someone a few weeks ago aimed at user Confession #123401. It was disgusting and offensive. Can you remove these 2 confessions? Thanks!??
A: Thanks for the heads up. The confessions have been taken down and whoever posted it will be banned
Q:MODS: I just wanted to let you know that if comments are removed you will lose a ton of people from the site. I already don't even bother to read the confessions that don't allow comments, and I know I'm not the only one (from past confessions/comments saying so and getting a lot of MeToos). I understand your reasons for considering doing so, but I don't think that's the answer to the problem.

Q:MODS I thought name calling was being reined in? Comment #### Calling someone an idiot is OK
A: No. It is not okay. But comments are not moderated. I also can’t look up comments by number in the back end like I can confessions, so if you can send me a s/n I’ll deal with that user.??
Q:mods - If you get rid of comments, why not have truu advice as an option. That way people seeking advice can go there. Although I think people should expect to see negative comments because everyone has a different perspective/opinion. That being said I always miss the really horrible ones. Your job is not easy and there are a lot of sick/bored/offensive people. I like truu advice though because sometimes I really want advice from truu users (like today regarding how to get my son to listen). The worldly and culturally diverse nature of this site makes advice interesting.
A: With the exception of the talk of the day, advice seeking confessions are also against the rules. Whether that rule stays or goes is up in the air right now, with a lot of potential changes, so we’ll keep you posted. But I’ll forward your opinion to our new owner.
Q:Mods, I know you don't police the comments but user is always hateful. S/he is always just this side of the rules of conduct. Isn't there some way to ban them
A: Not if they’re not violating any rules. I only saw one instance of name calling in that users first hundred comments, and it was pretty mild. I sent a warning, but I can’t ban people for not being nice. Just outright violating the rules.
Q:Mods: 126162 is aimed at the user user. She has been targeted before with nasty comments. Could you remove it? I know you have to err on the side of the user, but she was put on blast a few weeks ago and I would hate to see it happen again.

Q:Mods: there should totally be a "get a life" button in the comments to use for people's who only get on Truu to call out response posts, to make fun of people, and to point out grammar errors.

Q:MODS: When I try to log in sometimes I get a 'bad request' and it wont let me on the site at all for days, other times it works fine... I thought I had gotten ban for some reason and didnt know why? I am confused.

Q:Screw you, MODS, for not posting 690274 or anything else I've ever posted. It wasn't a response post. I'm so sick of saving my post numbers and checking back to see them and NEVER seeing them. I've probably posted a hundred confessions over 3-4 years and TWO - yes, TWO - have made it through.
A: Apologies. The way your confession was phrased made me think it was a response to a person complaining about driving 20 minutes away to the mall. But when I checked into it that confession complaining about the drive and the mayor thing was on another channel. If you’d like to repost your confession, let me know and I’ll put it up as an anonymous confession in an update.
Q:Mods. My second ever confession was 688378 and it wasn't posted. It was a real confession and not a response and I wanted to see in me toos and comments if anyone else had this same hang up. Wondering why it wasn't allowed. And it was so long ago that no one will see it.
A:It sounded like a response to someone who said they might not have kids, but they do have a mom. It’s been awhile now since that confession, if you’d like to repost, you’re welcome to.
Q:Mods: Is there a way to ask the person doing the sociology paper based on comments to discuss this? Perhaps in the blog? I feel that doing something like this should have required our permission. I know that when we sign up, we give the owners the rights to our confessions and comments but that didn't include someone doing a paper. I am sure we all have questions. I know this would be a response post if posted directly.
A: I can put it here, that’s about it. I don’t think anyone needs permission to use stuff posted to a public forum, but I could be wrong.
Q:Mods: Kaitlin, I don't think it is appropriate for you to share information about the site on the FB group page. That group has a tendency to be somewhat biased against some users and it appears to me that if you join in those conversations, you condone them. I am not one to whine and go on but if moderating is your job, then you should treat it as such and not share information that all users have access to.
A: I don’t share information about the site that doesn’t appear anywhere else on the site. If a user asks me a question via email, the confessional, or facebook, I’m going to answer it. I don’t condone any bias towards any users. And I certainly don’t post any confidential information anywhere on facebook.
Q:MODS - any plans to change the button selections
A: I have forwarded everyones button suggestions to the new owner. Beyond that, I don’t really know.
Q:My husband has Aspergers, and it is a huge burden to him, our marriage, our social life, and his job. He's been turned down for promotion after promotion because of his stilted speech pattern and lack of eye contact. He has only has one or two friends that rarely invite him to do anything because of his strange obsessions and nervous ticks. It's also the main reason I'm going to divorce him. So, yes, it's a terrible thing for a lot of people with high functioning autism. Mods, I realize this is a response post, but it's something I think people need to try and understand.

Q:Mods: EVERY response post is something that someone feels everyone needs to here. Why don't we just let them all through? Picking and choosing isn't fair--especially when the confession actually states "mods, this is a response post".

A: *looks back up at the prior confession* I didn’t post it. I very very specifically clicked do NOT publish. I’m not sure what happened there, but it happens a lot. Let me look into it. Also, I’ll send your feedback to the new owner. In regards to that post though, had she not written “I know this is a response post,” it wouldn’t have been. She did not write anything that I can see that had anything to do with anything but her personal life.
Q:Sometimes I feel like the mods don't post my confessions critical of Obama because they support him. Not loving the bias here.
A: Criticisms of Obama and Romney (of which there is an abundance on both sides) technically aren’t confessions. If you don’t at least try to make it personal to you in some way and confession like, then there is a chance it won’t get through. I’m still hoping for the truu opinions channel.
Q:mods: This is small but it would be easier if the default was no for remain anonymous and yes for allow comments. Sometimes I forget to change it. But I guess it is an anonymous website so this might not apply to everyone. Anyway, good job keeping it real.

Q:Sorry mods but we are STILL having people call others names. User called two people asses for expressing their own opinion. Yeah the site needs to not have comments anymore. I'm over this and am thinking of never coming back. This website has turned into a judgmental message board.

Q:Wtf when are you guys going to update, mods? It's 8pm and still nothing....??A: Apologies. Severe thunderstorms here and I didn’t have power the bulk of this day. I can’t access the back end on mobile devices, which didn’t matter since all my stuff needed to charge. VERY long day, lol. I’ve forgotten what life was like before smart phones.
Q:MODS: Any word on the suggestions we've asked? for example..a Hug button..(it's the only one I can think of right now lol) also, will the new owners make any changes to the site or do they like it how it is? And how is Romi(sp?) doing
A: Romi is doing great, I talked to her briefly the other day. I’m not sure what the plans are for the site. I think right now, the new owners are just feeling out how things work. But I’ll get back to you once I know more.???Q:So um Mods, is there no update schedule anymore? I've noticed that updates are coming later and later, and now even ask a mod is no longer on Fridays but being pushed later and later Saturday. What's the deal
A: Well for ask a mod, I’m waiting for answers to questions before I post them. For everything else, the updates are still on the same schedule (by 9:00, before noon, before 3, before 5, and sometime before I turn in, generally between 7 and 9, with the exception of weekends, before 11, before 5, and between 7 and 9) but I did lose power the other day. I know the mom channel updated after 11 today, but I started before. There were just tons of confessions.
