Is it normal for people to try and take over the wedding planning/wedding once a couple is engaged? Every thought or opinion I have (and I'm the future bride) is shot down and I keep being told that I need to consider other people's feelings. I don't want to be told who HAS to stand with us and that we're not allowed to have food at the wedding. Should we just elope and get it over with? (We already have kids btw)
