My DH is being stationed in Germany shortly. Me and our child are not going with him. He is entering a unit that is deploying for a year almost as soon as he gets there. I find it very logical to live in a place I know, with friends and family for support, than to go to a place where I know no one, I don't know the area, and I'll be by myself with our child. At least staying behind, I'll have people I trust to watch my child if an emergency comes up. As much as I want to be with my DH, lets face it, either way I'm not going to be near him, so I might as well move near family.
