i need ur all the military wives' opinions: me and my bf got together right before he deployed. we were friends in high school.he found me thru myspace and he came to visit me. i write everyday and he calls whenever he can and we spend r&r together. all together we've only spent 17 days together. he asked me to marry him last week and he will be coming home in may...i have a son from a previous marriage.he says he loves him like his own...he wants to get married as soon as he comes back so we can PCS.I just need to know how many women out there were in my situation and how hard is it being a military wife?

He's been gone a year. I've moved, had a baby, and juggled all the home life shit alone for 12 months. And now I'm afraid I don' even want him to come home anymore. I'm afraid I'm happier with just phone calls.

He gave me a set of dog tags before he left...they have his name, "serving in Iraq and love always" on them. He gave them to me the day he left, and I've never taken them off. Whenever I hear them jingling, I smile and remember the day he put them on.

When my friend whines about her husband being deployed to COLORADO, and mine is in Iraq..I just want to laugh in her face, and then slap her. At least you can get on a plane and see yours!!

I'm tired of reading about who has it harder than who. Stop effing whining. If you don't like it, get divorced. You have a right to have support, and a right to bitch and moan, but when it's constant, it reminds me of the whiny attention whore military wife types. Grow up. Face it. All deployments are hard, but some ARE harder than others!!

Do you think im impressed when you brag about how much you spent on this or that? Or how much your husband spent on this or that? No. I just think you're stupid for going on and on about how much money you spent, trying to impress me, and only making yourself look stupid because we both know you can't afford it. Weren't you the one whining about how poor you were a few weeks ago? You are an idiot.

All this talk of "sisterhood" makes me wonder... when did the military become a sorority?!

If military spouses are like they are on here (hiding behind a computer screen) I am very glad I'm away from the military community.
