I have never told anyone this, but the real reason I left him is because he wouldn't take care of me when I was depressed and suicidal. He knew it. I told him I needed help. I told him I had no more to give. I couldn't even get out of bed. I stared at knives when I did. But he refused to help me. And once I got better on my own, I realized that that was not a marriage. I should be able to expect my own husband to help me when I am too ill to help myself. I'm glad I got out of there.
