Confessions in Session Showing 11 - 20 of 402345
My son is in grade 1 (he's 6.5yo). He learnt how to tie his shoes over the weekend, and I was so VERY proud of him. He has autism and fine motor skills issues, so doing such a small, fiddly job was hard for him. He got it in one day of good practice, but that was after nearly 6 months of watching us, playing with the laces etc. Every kid is different.
My 15 y/o stb sd was just diagnosed with anorexia and depression a few weeks ago. It may seem insensitive, but I truly believe that this child is doing this to herself for her father's attention. She was used to being the center of her dad's universe and still is to a large degree, but now she has to share his attention, so she's manipulating his heart strings to get what she wants now.
I'm rethinking this whole marriage thing because of it and it's exactly what she wants.
While watching a commercial for Chef Boyardee I asked my daughter, tongue in cheek, if she danced around like that when she ate Spaghettio's. She flatly answered "no" and I said I wonder why that girl is. She looks over at me like I'm silly and says "I have noooo idea. Commercials always make people look stupid." Wise beyond her years, that one is!!!
Perhaps you received something unnecessary because the whole situation was unnecessary. Greedy, greedy, greedy.
Truu Bride is now Truu Sex, Truu Military Wives is now Truu Opinions :)
Dss is 9 and still can't tie his shoes. I have taught him on numerous occasions, starting when he was 5. His mom and his moms family keep buying him Velcro or skater type shoes that you don't tie, so of course he wears those over the shoes with ties I buy him. I've even forced him to wear the tying one and his shoes are untied when I pick him up and I'm guessing have been all day. I don't know what else to do.
Glad I'm not the only one who would absolutely NEVER allow my daughter to cheerlead. Talk about sending the wrong messages in just about every conceivable way. I can't believe that's still even allowed in schools. YUCK.
I think cheerleading for little girls (k-4) is one of the dumbest activities for girls. They shake their butts, wear too short of skirts, and are all about cheering boys on and being the supporter, not the athlete. My daughter will never participate in something so dumb. On top of that, they practice three days a week, two hours at a time in second grade. How is that worth that much effort?
I'm so broken and I don't even know where to begin to fix it.
We need an "eeewww" button
