Everyone I work with has a PhD. I'd say about a third of them are completely off their rockers.
Aw heck no I am not going gray. No way no how. I pluck those suckers the minute they pop up. When I can't keep up with them anymore, it's Clairol time for me. I probably won't go very gray, because I take after my dad's side and they seem to just get a sprinkle, but no thank you. I already have the glasses and the sensible shoes. No gray hair!
Remember me? Writer mom with the Big Deadline? Well guess what? I'm DONE! Done done done. I still have to finish the footnotes, but yeah, basically done. Thanks for the encouragement along the way. I sure hope my editor will be happy. I know I am!
I cannot watch horror movies that have a dog in it. Most likely the dog will die in a horrific way and you hear a pain-filled whimper before silence and I just cannot stand that sound. That was the last sound I heard from my childhood dog after he got shot and kicked a few times from a burglar while he was trying to protect us from him.
Truu Bride is now Truu Sex, Truu Military Wives is now Truu Opinions :)
I posted the other night about my parents basement flooding. Well just found out the same night the basement flooded the roof started leaking. I am terrified that the house is going to collapse on them.
I am in a predicament and I have no one but myself to blame.
I remember all throughout history in school our teachers telling us never forget, don't forget what happen to the blacks, jews, japanese and so on and now my children are being taught the same things yet it doesn't seem to matter, history just keeps on repeating itself. When our kids grow up most likely those who were taught to be prejudice against homosexuals will be viewed like how we view racists today. After all this is over there will likely be some one else's rights being threatened.
op of the dh that drinks bacardi & diet coke every night. he just sits at home as soon as he gets home. goes outside to his shed and just sits there and watches tv. it's a lonely life for me. i do all the stuff for and with the kids. he does too sometimes. mostly he just stays outside in his shed. but he still gets drunk/buzzed. he doesn't drink just a little.
I "hide" my snacks in the pantry or the fridge. Then I tell my kids "no, that's mine you can't have it.". Works every time. Amazing what happens when you actually parent and have kids that understand what No means.
My kid (9 and 11) have been mean to each other lately. I'm making them play a game together so they can spend some quality time together. I've found that my 9 year old tends to instigate things when she's missing attention from her big brother.
