I am so glad my almost 11 yo is really wanting to learn how to design and sew her own clothes. She's just under 5' tall and only weighs about 67lb. Finding clothes that fit her that I'm comfortable letting her wear is near to impossible!
And no, no eating disorder. She has been this skinny basically since she was born. Her dr says it's just the way she was made to be.
I was lifetime on WW for over 2 years then sprained my ankle and gained 15 because I was being lazy with my eating. I'm back at it and slowly losing those 15. This morning I was down a total of 7lb since rejoining 8 weeks ago. It's going slow but I'm doing it.
Gas prices are helping me get back in shape! I realized my WW meeting is only just over a mile away. So I walked this morning. Will probably continue to do that unless it's raining. It really was a great morning for a walk too.
I'm a size 6 (used to be a 12 but am a lifetime WW now) and was in the jrs dept looking at jeans for my dd. I was holding up a pair of size 0 petite to see if I thought I should bring her in to try them on and a sales lady says "Honey, I think you're in the wrong size". Grr.
17 years ago today we sat down with my parents and told them we were engaged. I was 18 and still in high school finishing my senior year, he was in college. We had been together since my freshman year. He was my first real boyfriend. Our 15th anniversary is this summer :)
dh might come home right around the time of our biggest event of the year. Like everyone works 50hr/wk in prep for 2 weeks prior (5 staffers) and 60+ the week prior and the week of the event. San Diego Comic Con. I love my job and I love my dh. I'll be glad to have him home a little early if it happens. But won't be able to take ANY time off except possible the week of the con. I don't actually go to it or I'd just have him come with me. Please pray that if he comes home that month, it's the week AFTER SDCC!!
I've learned from previous deployments that counting down the days/weeks is hard to do with the ever changing return dates. So I'm counting down major events. Today was one of them! A major event at work. There are many more events til homecoming, but that's one more gone :)
FTD and UPS are pissing me off. Dh sent me flowers via FTD and UPS as normal. He gets a delivery notification email. I tell him I didn't get anything (he asked) and we try to find out what happened. FTD claims they used the right address provided by dh. UPS delivered them to another town, to a house with no similar numbers to my work address where they were supposed to go. So somebody f-d up somewhere. Dh's receipt shows my work address and lists it as a business. yet they deliver to a residential home in another town? And of course, UPS customer service LIVE people don't work on weekends.
I pick him up tomorrow. Kids have NO IDEA! I have an elaborate hoax. Kids think I have to work for a coworker who is sick. I'm so excited!!!! He's guard so he's been stateside for a few days outprocessing. I even have my coworkers in on it so I can post on FB saying I'm at work, etc. I can't wait!!!!!
I have 4 kids, all relatively close in age (5y 3m from oldest to youngest) and at times it gets loud. But holy cow, take one kid out of the equation and the noise level goes to almost zero? It never matters which kid it is. They are 15 down to just turned 10. This weekend it's the almost 14 yo dd who is gone, at a church lock-in last night and a jr hi dance and birthday sleepover at a friend's house tonight. It's been quiet all day long. In a few weeks, dd 12 is going away for her class camping trip and it will be quiet for an entire week!
There's a track meet today and my two daughters, age 11 and 13 and standing by the door and have been for half an hour. I think they're a little excited! lol. The one is running the 400 and 800, the older one is running the 800 and 1600.
I work in the office of a comic book shop and warehouse. I generally wear jeans or cargo pants with geek-themed tshirts. Sometimes I wear cute casual tops or tank tops. But it never fails that the days we are down and dirty in the warehouse and out on the docks prepping huge shipments are the days I have to go to the grocery store after work. Warehouse days I wear my crappiest jeans, oldest sneakers, and dh's old army tshirts. I get dust smeared on my face and cobwebs in my hair, and get all sweaty. And I always run into someone I know. NEVER FAILS!
I was never an athlete. I'm a geek. A nerd. Literary club, quiz team, choir, band. I am a mom to 3 girl athletes. Their choice! Track, Volleyball, cross country, basketball. We're watching the Olympic Parade of Nations and my girls are so inspired by all the athletes, even the countries who only sent 3 or 4. The Olympics are inspirational to them. They're looking up to all the athletes and want to be there someday. It warms my heart :)
I actually was a virgin on my wedding night and my mom, to this day, thinks dh and I had sex long before then, lol.
I hate doing customer service emails! There's a button on our website to email with questions. I hate people who get really bitchy in their email about their order and then don't leave an order number, their name, or use the email they used when they placed the order. Hell, they even don't tell me what the heck they ordered. Any of those things will help with finding out the problem. Not giving me any info will get you NOWHERE! We get THOUSANDS of orders every week.
I made Grandma's secret recipe brownies for my coworkers. I think they like me working there, lol. I love to bake and bring them something almost every Monday.
work has been so crazy lately in prep for boss going out of the country for 2 weeks. I'm taking a mental health day wed (boss knows) and letting my coworkers deal with everything for a day. With dh deployed, if I'm not at work, I'm doing housework, parenting our 4 school age kids and ferrying them to friends/activities/sports and just don't get any time to chill. So it's lunch to Panera with mom, and a little retail therapy and a stop at the craft beer store.
starting tomorrow I work with 2 24 yo guys. Pretty sure my diet pop and microwave veggie steamers will be safe in the office fridge.
For the first time in 16 years I'm not working restaurants during the holidays. New workplace only bossman works Christmas Eve. Closed Christmas Day. Closed every Sunday. 3 day weekend!!!
positive post- my husband is deploying soon and we had his 'farewell' bbq yesterday. So many people showed up and we had a fantastic time. He's NG so we live near our families so our siblings, nieces, nephews, parents, aunts and uncles, were there along with a lot of our friends. Everyone brought a dish to share and me and my bro in law made bbq chicken and smoked brisket. Then at midnight, the 'young crowd' who stayed late helped us clean up.
