Born and raised (and living) in a country where the military have been used to repress our own people, it is difficult to understand american's near-worship of their own military and the "they're defending our freedom" stance. More even when the american military is known to abuse and repress people in the countries they're at war with.

A life is only worth so much. Why spend millions to keep people/babies alive in the hospital? If you can't afford to pay, you really don't deserve to live. It also says something about you, if your friends and family aren't willing to help with expenses.

The only commercial I've ever thought was good was the one done by the milk marketing board a few years ago. The guy eats a peanut butter sandwich and calls in to a radio contest to answer "Aaron Burr" in response to a trivia question. He runs out of milk and it comes out like "Mmmmron Buh" over and over and he loses the contest. That was the best commercial ever!

Omg how silly of me to think you'd shut up about that baby once it was born. I hid you from my news feed because it was bad enough hearing about every little thing that happened during your pregnancy and now we have to hear everything pookums does all day? You have other children to tend to. I also think you're a fool considering you got pregnant knowing your husband is about to be kicked out of the military.

We have a military in the US because if we didn't, we have too many natural resources to stay independent. It's not because people are mad at us.

I know this isn't milwives anymore but I wanted some opinions. Went to the dr yesterday for a referral and to address anxiety. She informed me they only "do" one issue per visit and I would have to call back for the anxiety. Then she told me they will refer me to mental health which is backed up due to deployments/ptsd. I get that soldiers come first (on a mil installation) but how is it ok to brush aside family members that need to be seen? Fortunately I can wait but what about those who can't?

I agree, kids aren't always worth it. Examples: My grandparents. had 4 kids, but their 2 faves were hardly around, & died young. My father busted his hump to take care of them; but was never good enough. Their 4th kid caused g'ma's death. MIL: Her oldest kid hates her, a druggie on 3rd marriage, hasn't spoken to her in more than 12 years. 2nd kid is an attention whore with a messed up relationship filled with drugs, jail, & messed up kids; only DH has turned out OK & was an accident. My parents: Me & sibling are doing great, but won't produce the grandkids they expected and moved away.

I am so tired of the comment "you knew what you were getting into. " as if I could say oh your in the military, never mind then I don't love you.

Interesting, how people were all upset over corporate tax breaks. The $1 you give to "charity" ends up being the corporate donation- which gives them millions in tax breaks. Fools.

When the US starts sending busloads of immigrants who have walked over our border to Canada, I wonder how Canadians will treat these new citizens of theirs? I'm thinking will send about ten million people there way. I am sure they won't treat them like criminals like all immigrants illegal or not are treated in the US. All Canadian citizens will welcome them singing kumbayah.
