No one is entitled to the money I have earned, do earn and will earn. I pay my taxes and don't begrudge aid to those who truly need it. I am sick of people standing with their hands out while sitting in a brand new car. I don't care where the car, the cash, the purse, the nails, the iPhone 5, the iPad, the computer or any of the other luxuries you have come from. I earn my money through hard work, drive, ambition and determination and I do it all legally and honestly. If you want something, you should want my work ethic.
I almost everyday say "When I hit the lottery..", and I already spend the money in my head before I even have it! I've only played the lottery one time when I turned 18 and I didn't win and never played again. But I live a fabulous life with my fantasy Winnings! Philanthropy! World traveler! Adventures! Education! Sportscars! Cute pool guy! ...etc..
In a society where 11 year olds get pregnant and you get money for popping out babies even though you're living in a ditch, of course people who pass on sex will be seen as freaks. As humans we are capable of controlling our urges. Some may not have any at all. Nothing wrong with either IMO.
DH and I are going through a rough time with money, I got laid off in Jan and DH doesn't make much. I applied for SNAP. We don't have children. (Not only do we not want them, WE CAN'T FREAKING AFFORD THEM!) We didn't qualify because he "makes too much". WTF?!?!?!?! We can barely eat after paying our bills. Yet, if I were laying on my back, spreading my legs and giving birth at every opportunity, we'd have it made! Does any of this seem wrong to anyone else? Why do we REWARD being irresponsible?
I think it's pretty easy to understand why the 99% don't understand. They are not as educated, they don't know 1%ers nor do they have a clue as to how they use their money. They believe everything that figure heads tell them instead of checking the information and understanding economics. I don't know any multi millionaires who don't contribute a great deal to the economy and don't create jobs in the US. Creating jobs in India also creates jobs here. It's all interconnected. 1%ers start at 250k. A lot of people who make that live in very expensive areas and have less disposable income.
One of my favorite memories. A few friends of mine had just finished graduate school and got jobs. About 1 year later, we all met up at the mall and blew ridiculous amounts of money on clothes and shoes. Had a great time together and topped it off with a very expensive lunch. It was such a nice splurge after living on mac and cheese for a few years. Best thing? We could all afford it.
I lived in the reddest part of a blue state once and it was terrible. Rabid Obama and Democrat haters yet the welfare rolls were teeming with people, lots of young women with multiple kids, high unemployment and meth was a huge problem. I worked in the WIC office, unfortunately. I paid more taxes than those freeloaders any day. The whining for more money was ridiculous. Gotta love conservative white towns that blame Obama and the Mexicans for everything.
