sigh. I finally found this great place, perfect rent location etc. But there's always a catch. When the tenant moves out they have to do some renovation and it may not be ready for the first of the month. When my lease is up. I'll ask my LL if i can stay an extra few days. No one has even come to see this place. But i'm not optimistic. I wish i had some place to stay but I don't. There goes my apartment, my summer, everything. No one ever comes through for me. There IS another place I like, but it's more expensive.

I love living in the Willamette Valley. I love the rain, greenery, and the occasional 100 degree days in the summer while Eastern, Central, and Southern Oregon get that nasty weather daily for months. Fall and Spring are great too. Very cool and colorful.

I hate spring/early summer in the Willamete Valley. My nose will not stop ITCHING. 2 months to go till it's all over. On the plus side, it's so freaking pretty because of all the rain. I'm the OP of the living in Oregon confession.

I worked in a low end retail store during the holiday and summer vacations in college. Got paid $6.50 per hour. I was just a warm body that shoved cheap crap throughout the store. I didn't have to be nice to customers and didn't care. Herd em in and make them GTFO so more shoppers could come in. My boss didn't care since she was paid poorly too. Our store always made good numbers since people just wanted their junk and the choices for shopping was limited in that area. You get what you pay for!

I'm trying to look for an overnight summer camp that is NOT religiously affiliated. I can't find one. In their "what to bring" section, they list bible as their number one thing to bring. Why is it that in order for kids to do fun things like that (summer camp, Boy Scouts, etc.) they have to be Christian? Why aren't their secular things out there? If there are, WHERE are they?

I live in Portland. The homeless here are so coddled they would die without all the freebies they get. Warming shelters in the winter, cooling ones in the summer, free needles, free food, free clothing, free everything. People flock here since they know they'd get welcomed with open arms. Disgusting infestation really.

I'm probably in the minority, but i never was really big on summer camp. I went for a couple of summers but it wasn't really for me. I was small for my age, skinny, nearsighted and sucked at sports. I loved being in the country. but generally i was miserable and wanted to go home. I never did get why grown adults still relive that whole thing and talk like it was the greatest on earth.

From ages 10-24, I spent almost all summer in HI. Moved to the east coast but I go back for two weeks every year, and to different islands, but mostly Oahu because that's where most of my friends are. I can't get enough and will retire there. Maybe it's different because I'm part Polynesian?

My husband took the DLAB today to re-enlist into the 35 series which would send him to California for a year to learn Japanese. I am totally okay with that! At least we would get more visitors and be closer to his parent's summer home. Best thing is no deployments for a year at the least. The military is good to him.

My husband keeps asking me to get a pedicure. Go to the salon. Do something for myself. I just can't justify spending almost $200 on hair and nails when we have a baby on the way and his EAS this upcoming summer. We need to save. Yea, my hair does look horrible with exposed roots and I sure could use a pedicure but we need to have money in savings to survive if he can't find a job.
