I posted about my MIL being mad about the birth. For a little background, she only has one other son. He is divorced, has full custody of his kids and they all live with her. She is used to being the only grandma. We split holidays equally between our families, and every other Christmas we get to hear the complaints that we won't be home. We spent DS 2nd bday with them, and his 3 rd with my family. She had also apparently " already taken the time off" to visit for his bday, without asking. And got mad when we told her we would be out of town. I have no idea how to fix this.

Our local stores was clearing out holiday turkey a few weeks back for $5 each. Defrosted it on Sunday and had a roast turkey for dinner (yum!). Day2 had turkey pot pie. Day 3 making turkey stock with the bones. I just made a $5 turkey into 3 meals. I ROCK!

I HATE Valentines Day with a passion. Drives me nuts. Our first born was born on the 10th of Feb. and on the 14th both sides of family and friends were saying we need to go out for Valentines Day and have our time and blah blah blah. Piss off people we were enjoying our new baby. We love each other and do special things for each other when we feel like it or when we know the other person needs a special life me up (at all times of year). I pretty much feel this way about all holidays though.

None of my children were planned and I love them all. My first was conceived two months after a miscarriage and we were just about to go on a holiday where pregnancy slowed me downé The second and third were also surprises. One was conceived while on my period (who knew?) and the other was a condom baby. But most of my life is unplanned, I just live it. I knew I wanted to kids but did not plan when and how many I would have. DH and I are more spontaneous than planners.

I own a gun for protection I only buy Amercian made cars I believe in keeping jobs in the US. I love shopping at yard sales and church sales, my favorite holiday is Christmas. I support feeding America and the ASPCA. I live in a quiet suburb in Washington state my favorite dessert is a peach cobbler and I raise my children to be patriots. We are proud Americans who will die defending it. From my narrative you have an image of me. But I am not that image at all. I have dark hair, brown skin and my parents immigrated from India decades ago. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Our friends have 3 girls, live in sandy hook ct. 2 of their girls went to that school. They are fine but traumatized. They finally sent out holiday cards, we got theirs saturday. Pics of their girls happy, clearly well loved. The card said 'please remember to count your blessings...i knowwe will!' we should all count our blessings

I'd love to have a mom pen pal. I don't have the motivation to send a detailed letter every 2 weeks but I'd love to have someone to send cutesy little cards to for holidays and drop little notes to. I just searched for "pen pal" on truu and similar confessions that came up were all old so I wouldn't want to respond to any of them now. If any moms are interested, drop me a line at yahoo mail. The address is penfriendmom (Yeah, I just created a new email address for it! WAY too much time on my hands today!) I hope I get some takers! Wouldn't you like to get something in the mail besides bills?!

my dd attends a year-round school. it works out perfectly. lots of chunky breaks throughout the year and around the usual holidays, she stays "in the game" and motivated. the consistency also keeps our family schedule even throughout the entire year. win-win.

I never thought my relatives felt they were being taken advantage of by hosting every holiday. We descended on them like locusts and stayed in their house, etc. It has now happened to me only once and I feel used. The holiday was miserable. I want out of the whole holiday mess next year.
