We do birthday potlucks in the office. One woman always brings in ONE bag of Wise chips as her contribution. She has no trouble eating everything and has even packed a doggie bag on occassion. Everyone else brings hot food,donuts, fruit platter, cocktail sandwiches AKA spending more than $2'. Tomorrow is her birthday - everyone is bringing in Wise Chips.

My CWs son was a crackhead who died of an overdose 8 months ago. Before he died he betrayed his entire family by lieing and stealing to support his habit. Today was is b birthday and she has blown up her FB feed with all these tributes to how awseome he was. The entire weekend is devoted to these little rituals to how awesome he was. I don't understand.
I have managed to stay under the radar at work to the point that I didn't even get one of those stupid little birthday cards that my coworkers get for their birthdays from upper management. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but it kind of hurts.
I will have more hours in January, and we get paid 3 times in January. And my birthday is in February, and we get paid 3 times that month too. March too. So by April, I'd better have a f8cking second job, or a better employment situation in general.
Dear receptionist: I'm sorry I snapped at you this morning, but one of these days you are going to hurt one of us trying to "help" me put the water bottle on the cooler. And FFS, you paged us this afternoon saying the birthday cake was being served. Twice. In less than a minute. You don't have to call me too. If we don't coming running for the crappy cake, she calls us, one by one.
It was my birthday yesterday & I went out with friends, planning on just dinner and a couple of drinks. Instead ended up staying out till 3AM, drinking I don't know how much & not remembering the last part of the night. Now I'm sitting in my office at work waiting to head to a meeting and wanting to puke & sleep at the same time. Bad bad decision to go out last night. Happy 23rd birthday to me.
my slow payer is telling me he'll pay me the full amount at the end of the month. I feel bad about having to remind him so many times but they're so disorganized. I will never work for them again. The end of the month would be nice, that's my birthday.But with these idiots, who knows. I'm not betting on it.
Internal audit showed up unscheduled this afternoon and demanded to meet with me just as I was (along with the 14 other members of my dept) planning on lighting birthday candles and singing to our CW on her 59th birthday. He scurries off and is stupid enough to leave a snarky voicemail for me. Screw you.
I'm a temp. The work is drying up. Which means any day now I'll be out of work again. Everybody around me is celebrating a birthday, I can't bring myself to even smile. I'm so sad and so nervous and I'm sick of living this way.
